Corrugated, Sheeting and Finishing Equipment

Barry-Wehmiller strengthened its overall balance of markets served when it acquired Marquip, Inc., an international manufacturer of high speed corrugating and sheeting equipment for the corrugated paperboard and folded carton industries, in October 2000. The Ward Machinery Company and United Container Machinery, acquired by Barry-Wehmiller in 2002, were integrated with Marquip to form MarquipWardUnited. With expanded corrugating, converting and finishing equipment product lines, MarquipWardUnited has emerged as the market leader in the corrugated equipment industry.

Converting Equipment

In October 2005, Barry-Wehmiller completed the largest acquisition in its history, adding Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC) to its family, and paper converting equipment as a fourth major operating platform. Headquartered in Green Bay, Wis., with additional operations in England, Italy and Brazil, PCMC is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of converting machinery for the tissue and nonwovens industries, which produce a variety of consumer products including "wet wipe" disposable cloths. In addition, the company has a major market position in flexographic printing equipment for the flexible packaging industry. With a rich 80-year history of innovation and leadership, PCMC brings to the organization more than 1,000 associates and revenues of more than $200 million.

Barry-Wehmiller's acquisition and organic growth initiatives continue to foster a distinctive environment marked by principled leadership. The unique company culture inspired by the Guiding Principles of Leadership has been recognized in the national media for its successful approach and commitment to individual and corporate growth.
